Outpatient Mental Health Counselor

Summary

The Counselor provides culturally sensitive competent Mental Health counseling services to clients in an outpatient setting. This role involves conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and providing therapy.

Key Responsibilities

• Build a client base through marketing professional services with the support of Family Service Inc.
• Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and diagnostic evaluations.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessments.
• Provide individual, couple, group, and/or family therapy sessions to clients.
• Monitor and document client progress.
• Stay up to date with the latest research and best practices in the field of Mental Health.
• Be an active participant in the clinical team.
• Be willing to provide therapy services via Telehealth when appropriate.
• Ensure consistent and ongoing communication with the Leadership Team.
• Attend and participate in staff meetings and staff training.
• Maintains a high degree of discretion when dealing with confidential information.
• Flexible scheduling to meet the needs of clients served.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• None.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Experience working with diverse populations and culturally sensitive counseling approaches.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Education and Experience

• Master’s degree in counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Social Work.
• State licensure or certification as a Counselor, Therapist or Social Worker

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in an Outpatient Mental Health setting.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
