Job description

The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is the state agency that focuses solely on policies, programs, and services for people with mental health challenges, substance use disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, or any combination of these. As Georgia's public safety net, DBHDD operates six field offices and five hospitals throughout the state within three program areas: behavioral health, developmental disabilities and hospital services.

 

The main office for DBHDD is located in downtown Atlanta.

 

Job Description

 

Job Title:  Outpatient Forensic Program Associate

 

Pay Grade: F

  

Job Summary:

 

The Community Forensic Program Associate is assigned to one of four outpatient teams and will work under the leadership of their team's Community Forensic Director.

 

1.      Receives and prepares cases for psychological evaluations.

a.      Creates forensic file which includes making records requests of other agencies, ensuring receipt of all required documentation, and setting up electronic file.

b.      Involves regular and frequent communication with other state agencies as well as various facets of the criminal justice system (e.g. attorneys, Department of Juvenile Justice)

c.      Schedules evaluations - coordinating with defendants, psychologists, and sometimes parents and/or attorneys

d.      Scores psychological tests, if requested

e.      Receives and distributes completed psychological evaluations, closes electronic forensic file, and enters pertinent data into the system.

 

2.      Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications: Working knowledge of Juvenile Court procedures. Working knowledge of forensic mental health system. Proficient use of Microsoft Office products, PeopleSoft, CONCUR, Kronos, SharePoint.
