Responsibilities:
· Design and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the curriculum, focusing on literacy and social-emotional learning
· Planning and leading various activities and games for children that foster their creativity, curiosity, and confidence
· To provide a positive and nurturing learning environment for students, while assisting with homework, assignments, and test preparation as well as, providing individualized support as needed
· Assessing students' literacy and social emotional needs
· Communicate with parents and guardians regarding student performance, progress, needs, and challenges
· Collaborate with other teachers and staff to enhance the overall educational experience
· Participate in ongoing professional development activities and training sessions to stay updated on current educational practices
· Leading teaching assistants and volunteers to be actively engaged with students
· Updating attendance records and reporting to management on program outcomes and feedback
· Complete all other duties as assigned
The ideal candidate for this position has:
· A bachelor’s degree in education, social work, or a related field, or equivalent experience
· A minimum of one year of experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting, preferably with refugee or immigrant populations
· A strong knowledge of child development and trauma-informed practices
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to effectively manage a classroom and create a positive learning environment
· Patience, flexibility, and adaptability in working with diverse student populations
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
· A cultural competence and sensitivity to the needs and backgrounds of diverse students and their families

Pay: $40,000.00 - $46,000.00 per month
