Job Summary:
Operates a tractor trailer truck that transports cargo to and from specified destinations. Prepares, receives, and provides appropriate documentation for the delivery or pick up of goods to ensure timely service. Loads, secures, verifies, and unloads cargo. Maintains communications with dispatcher to receive instructions for scheduled delivery or pick up. Maintains logs of travel and cargo according to federal and state regulations. May be responsible for vehicle inspection and maintenance. Transports hazardous materials safely to assigned destination.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operates a semi-truck according to Occupational and Safety Health Act (OSHA) and applicable state and federal transportation laws.
- Transports loads safely and in a timely manner over required routes, obeying all traffic laws and observing all safety regulations.
- Perform “pre-trip and post-trip safety check” inspection of truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations; inspect cab and trailer to insure they meet company quality standards and take appropriate action as needed.
- Pick up and/or unload products from truck and/or deliver ISO container to designated customer storage areas. Verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures.
- Complete daily record of hours of service and enter in log in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
- Deftly maneuvers truck and trailer into loading and unloading areas; follows loading crew signals.
- Maintains signed invoices, shipping bills of lading, and other required paperwork; delivers documentation to shipping office or other appropriate staff when delivery route is complete.
- Facilitates routine service on trucks, which may include checking oil, water, gasoline, and air, reports maintenance malfunctions to manager.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to speak professionally and courteously with customers and staff at delivery points.
- Ability to remain focused in a busy environment.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must hold required commercial driver’s license appropriate for weight of vehicle to be operated.
- Must pass background and drug testing as required by federal and/or state department(s) of transportation regulations.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting in a trailer cab for up to 11 hours per day.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, frequently.
- Ability to sit, stand, and climb stairs.
- Able to climb ladders and work at heights up to 10 feet, on occasion.
- Ability to work in a warehouse/manufacturing facility where temperatures may fluctuate excessively, as well as work outside in all weather conditions. PPE, safety, and specialty equipment are provided to support conditions as necessary.
- Occasional turning, twisting, stooping, bending, and reaching.
- May climb ladders to check gauges at the top of the bulk tanks and make connections.
- Must be able to travel frequently.
Salary Range: 65-85K
