Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a variety of commercial vehicles, including tanker trucks, delivery trucks, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, roll-off trucks, and dump trucks.
- Transport goods and materials to specified destinations in a timely manner.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that arise during transportation.
- Follow company policies and procedures for safe handling of hazardous materials, if applicable.
Qualifications:
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with the appropriate endorsements for the types of vehicles being operated.
- Clean driving record with no major violations or accidents in the past [number] years.
- Experience operating various types of commercial vehicles, including those with manual transmissions.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance requirements.
- Ability to safely operate heavy equipment as needed for loading and unloading cargo.
- Basic automotive repair skills to handle minor maintenance tasks on vehicles.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Physical stamina to handle the demands of long hours on the road and loading/unloading cargo.
