Job Description
The OSP Engineering Planner at ASG is responsible for creating project designs, estimating costs, identifying appropriate materials and equipment, creating drawings, and estimating project timelines for the placement of fiber optic cables, copper cables, poles, conduit, transmission equipment, and associated electronics.

What you’ll do: (Including, but not limited to):
- Perform field engineering of proposed projects to provide optimum routing alternatives while ensuring the most cost-effective designs are developed for construction projects
- Provide suggested cable routings, drop, house, or unit count, and proposed pedestal locations
- Provide field investigation using aerial, buried, and underground designs and construction methods such as conduit, manholes, hand holes, etc.
- Provide legible drawings in acceptable formats depicting the pickup locations and proposed routings developed from the field visit
- Present estimated costs to provide service on assigned projects
- Attend on-site meetings with applicable parties to explain the proposed design, construction procedure, and cable routing
- Perform field verifications of existing plants to provide accurate pick-up points for new plant extensions
- Obtain street addresses and unit count information to ensure records and databases remain current
