Osp Drafter/Engineer

Luffman Byers Telecom is currently seeking to fill an OSP Drafter/Engineer position in direct support of our Longhaul teams across the United States. The Drafter/Engineer will work closely with our inspectors in the field to assist with accurate and up-to-date changes to our engineered prints. The ideal candidate will be proficient in CAD and have OSP Engineering experience.

Responsibilities and Duties:

· Utilize AutoCAD and other client-specific mapping software to create and/or edit telecom plant facilities.

· Review field drawings and update changes and make appropriate corrections timely.

· Create new engineered prints utilizing information provided by our inspectors in the field.

· Update older “As-built” drawings with new information.

· Work directly with Field Inspector, Permit Team, and Construction Crews to gather accurate information.

· Assist permitting team with drawings to be used for permit approval.

· Primarily work from home with possibility of some travel for Field Engineering less than 5% of time.

Requirements:

· Must have a valid US Driver’s license with a clean driving record.

· Willing to work overtime when needed.

· Must be able to read maps and construction prints.

· Must be detail oriented.

· Must be proficient in KMZ editing and creation.

· Must have 2+ years of field engineering experience.

· Must have 3+ years of AutoCAD experience.

· Must have experience permitting (State, Local, and RR).

· Must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

· Must possess excellent problem-solving skills.

· Must be proficient in MS Office.

· Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Preferred Skills:

· Trimble and GIS Experience

· Adobe Pro Experience
