Job Description
The OSHA 10 Instructor is responsible for delivering effective safety training courses that comply with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines, specifically the 10-hour training program designed for entry-level workers. This role involves educating participants on workplace safety and health standards to prevent workplace accidents and injuries.
This is a part-time, as-needed position. You must be available to teach on weekdays.
POSITION SUMMARY
- Provide in-person classroom instruction in keeping with OSHA-approved requirements and procedures for the 10-hour General Industry training topics
- Prepare lesson plans and schedule classroom activities
- Develop and prepare supplemental materials to enhance lesson plans Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance; maintain other records according to program needs or accreditation requirements
SPECIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA standards and regulations, particularly the requirements for the 10-hour General Industry safety training, with the ability to stay updated on any changes to these guidelines.
- Exceptional instructional skills, with the capability to engage a diverse group of entry-level workers effectively in a classroom setting, ensuring comprehension and retention of safety practices.
- Strong planning and organizational abilities, enabling the preparation of detailed lesson plans, scheduling of classroom activities, and development of supplemental materials to support learning objectives.
- Proficiency in record-keeping and administrative tasks, including the accurate documentation of student attendance, assessment of student performance, and adherence to program or accreditation standards.
Education:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• OSHA 10 Training Certificate
Experience:
• Teaching Experience required
Hourly rate is $50
