Form of workThe Physician Extender will be required to manage a multitude of job responsibilities in the in the Orthopedic Clinic.
- Rooms the patient
- Takes the patient’s vitals.
- Completes the patient interview.
- Consists of gathering the following information: the chief complaint, obtaining history of present illness and brief exam, the current medication list, allergies, past medical history, and social history
- Documentation of clinical visit and providing patient education of treatment plan
- Prepares an End of Visit Summary document from EPIC.
- Prints and reviews educational material or post-surgical care documents that is relevant to the patient.
- Assist with procedures, injections, and casting.
- Fitting of DME
- Teaching of therapy related exercises and crutch fitting/training
- Triage for clinic and ordering of pertinent imaging.
- Providing a positive experience for patients
- Scheduling patient appointments
