Baltimore Washington Medical Center (BWMC), a member of the University of Maryland Medical System, and a leading provider of orthopedic care providing state of the art care to restore our patient's quality of life and mobility. We are looking for an Orthopedic Nurse Practitioner to join our inpatient team in Glen Burnie, MD.  

Job Description

Orthopedic Nurse Practitioners providers will:

  • Daily rounding for primary orthopedic patients
  • Emergency Department consultations: evaluate, order labs and other studies as needed, aspirate joints, fracture reductions and splinting/casting
  • Osteoporosis liaison: identify patients with fragility fracture, initiate bone health evaluations and refer to osteoporosis clinic for follow up care.
  • Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons.
  • 8 hour shifts, one day per week
  • No call coverage, weekend or after hours.
  • Physician and APP friendly, collaborative work environment

Qualifications
  • Master of Science degree with completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner required.
  • Board Certification Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
  • Ideal candidate will have proven experience working with orthopedic patients as an NP.
  • New Graduates are welcome to apply, must be able to commit to two full weeks of orientation and training.
  • Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner required. 
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse required.
  • Current NRP and PALS certifications
  • DEA and CDS eligible.
