- Patient Interaction: Greet patients warmly and assist with prepping for procedures.
- Specialist Referrals: Manage referrals to orthodontic specialists.
- Collaboration: Work closely with orthodontists and other team members.
- Maintaining accurate records of patients' oral health histories and treatment progress.
- Ensuring that all orthodontic instruments and equipment are properly sterilized before each use.
- Taking intraoral X-rays of patients’ mouths to aid in developing treatment plans and to document patient progress.
- Taking oral and facial photos of the patient as needed.
- Taking digital molds of patients’ teeth for the fabrication of customized mouth guards and retainers.
- Seating appliances in patients’ mouths under the supervision of the doctor.
- Removing and replacing wires, coil springs and elastic bands.
- Educating patients on proper oral hygiene practices and braces aftercare.
Education :
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
Experience:
- Ideally, candidates should have 1-2 years of experience as an Orthodontic Technician.
Skills:
- Excellent manual dexterity
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Proficient collaborating within a team
