Orthodontic Assistant Ii

The Orthodontic Assistant is the liaison between the Doctor and the patient. This position maintains communication with the Doctor, patient, and front office staff to ensure the patient receives exemplary service and treatment. The Orthodontic Assistant assists the Doctor chair side during treatment procedures, performing all assisting duties permitted by law.

The Orthodontic Assistant plays a critical role in the success of Signature Smiles Orthodontics providing functional support critical to the success of all positions within our organization. The Orthodontic Assistant uniquely impacts all parts of the patient experience and creates a lasting impression of the Practice. The Orthodontic Assistant promotes self confidence in every patient, using effective communication skills to create a welcoming and comforting environment for patient care. This position supports and frequently anticipates the needs of the Treatment Coordinator, Doctor, Insurance Coordinator, and other Team Members as required.

This position supports patient care by the maintenance of all supplies by using correct sterilization methods, assembling instruments and providing Doctor access to the required instrumentation. The Orthodontic Assistant provides additional materials by selecting, mixing, and placing materials on instruments and in the mouths of patients.

Excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients, parents, doctors, team members and the community. Effective verbal skills to communicate with patients and parents. The ability to effectively provide patients with oral hygiene instructions and accurately document Doctor care services using the appropriate channels. Supports the long term success of the Practice through reasonable sacrifices, communicating cost reduction opportunities, increasing efficiencies, dependability, and being an ambassador for the brand.

The Orthodontic Assistant is required to keep abreast on competencies and industry changes to positively impact the patient experience. Continuing education may be required to learn additional duties as determined by the Practice.

Physical Requirements:

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour
