ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists in developing training outlines, determining content and duration of briefing and orientation sessions and selecting appropriate instruction procedures, based on analysis of briefing/orientation requirements consistent with HUD and the DCHA Administrative Plan
- Compiles data for use in manuals, handbooks and other training aids required by HUD for orientation briefings
- Schedules briefing and orientation sessions ensuring timely occupancy activities
- Answers inquiries of persons coming into the Housing Choice Voucher Program regarding participant obligations, participant responsibilities and housing provider responsibilities
- Informs applicants/participants/housing providers of HCVP policies and procedures through lectures, demonstrations and the use of audio visual aids
- Keeps an attendance record of weekly briefing sessions conducted
- Attends meetings with supervisor and other management and fellow team members to discuss schedules, workloads, quality control findings and revised policies and procedures; attends other meetings, conference, and Training workshops as required; follows-up on action items in a timely manner
- Coaches and conducts in-house training for fellow co-workers on information pertinent to the Housing Choice Voucher Program
- Maintains current knowledge of Housing Choice Voucher Program procedures, the DCHA Administrative Plan and current HUD regulations
- Maintains tracking log and prepares reports
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field; at least two years of experience in training, adult education, or a related field; or other equivalent combination of education and experience which meet the minimum qualifications requirement may be substituted.
The District of Columbia Housing Authority (DCHA) conducts pre-employment screening on specified positions, which may include but is not limited to a criminal background check, drug and alcohol testing, verification of academic credentials, licenses, and certifications, and/or verification of work history.
This position has been designated by the department to require a drug and alcohol screening and background check. Finalist(s) for this position will be subject to drug and alcohol testing and will be required to consent to a pre-employment background check as a condition of employment.
