Organic Vegetable Farm Hand

I'm looking for someone to work on our veggie crew, part-time starting late May running through October.

Responsibilities:
- Assist in the growing and maintenance of crops and plants on the farm
- Use hand tools for various farming tasks such as planting, weeding, and harvesting
- Perform heavy lifting tasks as needed to move supplies and equipment
-Assist in packing weekly orders
- Assist in greenhouse operations including planting and watering

Requirements:
- Experience in farming or related field is preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual labor tasks
- Proficiency in using hand tools commonly found on a farm
- Competence in operating power tools
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions

LotFotL Community Farm grows 3-5 acres of veggies for weekly distribution to households throughout southeast Wisconsin. Work hours are typically 8:30-5pm Mon-Fri, beginning in May, ending in October. Some weekend work is possible, but not on a consistent basis.

Starting wage is between $14-$17/hr depending on experience and other qualifications. For the vast majority of your time here, you will be responsible for assisting in the planting, weeding, washing, and packing of orders. Experience with tractor operation, walking tractor, and paperpot transplanter are pluses, but not required.

You can make the same $ pouring coffee or handing out receipts at stores, but you stand to gain very little beyond a paycheck there. We have a lot of fun together, learn from each other, and at the end of the day, feel good about the work we do.
