PURPOSE - The Order Selector is responsible for performing an array of functions that may include receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, organizing and retrieving stock in the warehouse, operate powered industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries to and from storage areas, inspect trailer, and communicate across multiple departments, as well as selecting customer orders.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES – List the activities you perform on a regular basis. Identify the major end result your position is expected to achieve for each of these activities.
1. Selects customer orders using an RF scanner gun & forklift, as well as, stages for loading on trucks.
2. Transports material or equipment to and from designated areas in the facility
3. Loading and unloading goods from vehicles such as trucks and trailers
4. Examining products to verify conformance to quality standards
5. Prioritize trailer loading/unloading with Receiving Coordinator
6. Maintains inventory controls by collecting stock location orders, printing request, recording amounts of materials or items received or distributed through a computer/scanner. May also assist in counting of physical inventory
7. Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and work stations neat; Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times
8. Wear the proper safety equipment
9. Stacking goods in the correct storage bays, following inventory control instructions
10. Checking loads are secure
11. Stacking empty pallets
12. Performing daily equipment checks such as recharging the truck’s battery
13. Other duties as assigned.
14. Quality Assurance/Food Safety- Complies with all policies and procedures created to ensure the production of high-quality food-safe products.
15. Serves as backup to Material Handler within the Production Department
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCIES-Check the competency model that applies to this job: Manager/Supervisor _ Technical/Professional_General Labor
· Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
· Must have 1-2 years of warehouse experience, as well as prior trailer loading and unloading experience and order selecting
· Follow instructions for operating equipment and keeping records
· Execute assignments in an accurate, timely and safe manner
· Maintain a clean & safe environment
· Prior use of RF scanner gun
· Clean driving record and a valid state motor vehicle operator’s license may be required
· Forklift certification per OSHA standards
· Good with numbers and adding/subtracting quantities
· Self-Starter and Disciplined

· Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-50lbs occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 50 lbs.

· Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance
· Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus
