Shift: 7am start time (8-9 hours shift, usually done at 4pm). Mon-Fri.  40+ hours a week. 

Pay Rate: $18.00/hr. Or more DOE With a possible increase of pay rate $1-$2/hr. when you convert permanently

About the Role:
As a crucial contributor to the efficient operations of this company Corporation's wholesale plumbing supply distribution team, you will play a pivotal role in order selecting and packaging customer orders. You will also be operating a SIT-DOWN FORKLIFT from time to time not always! Your responsibilities will include:

  • Order Selection and Packaging: Utilize RF scanners and picking reports to accurately select and package customer orders, ensuring adherence to Company policies and procedures.
  • Warehouse Management: Stock and maintain the warehouse, ensuring that all picked orders are documented and packed efficiently.
  • Attention to Detail: Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail to uphold the Company's commitment to customer satisfaction during the order selection and packaging process.
  • Discrepancy Resolution: Address any discrepancies in the order selection and packaging process according to established procedures or escalate issues to the designated employee for resolution.
  • Inventory Management: Identify nonstock, special-order material, and damaged items, storing them appropriately in the warehouse.
  • Documentation: Complete necessary documentation for customer shipments delivered via third-party carriers.
  • Material Handling: Safely load and unload trucks, operate warehouse forklift, and handle other material handling equipment.
  • Communication: Keep the immediate supervisor informed about stock depletions, count discrepancies, or damaged/defective/nonsaleable merchandise that could impact customer service levels.
  • Asset Protection: Ensure the implementation and adherence to security and control measures to protect Profit Center assets.
  • Warehouse Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness, order, and safety in the warehouse, addressing safety issues promptly and removing debris.
  • Customer Service: Collaborate with co-workers to provide excellent service to customers.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of warehouse order selecting and material handling experience.
  • Product Knowledge: Familiarity with products sold at the Profit Center is preferred.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • Technical Skills: Previous experience with RF scanners.
  • Communication: Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
  • Product Knowledge: Ability to quickly develop comprehensive knowledge of products sold at the Profit Center.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Relationship Building: Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
  • Safety Awareness: Knowledge and application of safety precautions in a warehouse and material handling environment.
  • Equipment Operation: Ability to learn and safely operate a forklift and other material handling equipment.
  • Computer Skills: Ability to learn and operate computer-related systems used for warehouse operations.
  • Language Skills: Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
