The Oracle EPM Implementation Consultant is responsible for working with the project team to implement Oracle EPM and migrate off the current Hyperion and Essbase solution. The Oracle EPM Consultant will work directly with the Build Lead/Solution Architect, Sr leaders in Corporate Finance and stakeholders from the business unit FP&A teams and controllership teams. The Consultant will work with the FP&A teams to understand and document functional business requirements, and work with the Build Lead and third-part implementation partner to translate to technical requirements. The Oracle EPM Implementation Consultant will be involved in all phases of a project, including requirements gathering and documentation, solution design and implementation, testing and validation, and user training and acceptance.
Acts as a liaison among stakeholders in order to assist them in query tuning and training of the BI toolset from simple reporting to advanced ad hoc reporting and analytics. Understands business problems and opportunities in the context of the requirements and recommends solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals. Interprets and transforms information based on business requirements and provides the data for delivery.
Business Relationship Management Responsibilities:
- Understand the business processes, how the application supports the business processes and apply this knowledge to best solve problems.
- Work with FP&A teams and other stakeholders in Corporate Finance to document functional business requirements and create BRDs to work with technical teams on technical requirements
- Develop functional specifications and works with technical resources to complete object development and testing.
- Help lead requirement gathering and creates system and user documentation.
- Lead user sessions for requirement and testing, document solution gaps and lead solution design.
- Assist users with problems and work with other developers or independently to resolve issues.
- Understand source system requirements, including transactional systems, business queries and business analytics.
- Design and develop integrated planning, reporting and business intelligence solutions.
- Create test plans, test cases, test scripts and performs functional testing.
- Create and maintain system documentation.
- Work with existing systems to track and manage requests and issues.
- Provide business reports to management and project stakeholders
- Employ technical and functional knowledge to facilitate better deployment of Oracle EPM applications including application security and third-party integrations.
Experience Required:
- 12+ years IT experience
- 10+ years experience developing Oracle EPM Planning and Essbase Applications integrating with third party application and reporting solutions.
- Experience in Oracle EMP Planning and Profitability and Cost Management Modules
- Experience with Hyperion Capital Asset Planning or Strategic Finance or Profitability and Cost Management or Hyperion Financial Management or Hyperion Performance Scorecard.
- Experience in building and maintaining calc scripts, data loads, batch jobs, automation and MaxL scripting.
- Experience with optimizing business rules and calc scripts.
- Understanding of dependencies and interrelationships between functional components of Hyperion Planning among forms, business rules, calculation scripts, variables and Essbase databases.
- Hands-on experience with ASO and BSO Essbase application development/configuration and support - including metadata design and metadata update administration, complex calculation/rule development, web form and reporting.
- Knowledge of FDM or FDMEE for data integration including mapping rules and scripts.
- Working knowledge of software development and support methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong preference for having successfully designed, implemented, and/or participated in large-scale MDM/DRM and Oracle EPM solutions.
- Experience implementing OBIEE with Oracle Hyperion EPM preferred.
- Extensive financial process and functional knowledge preferred.
- Exposure to Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and Hyperion Enterprise is a plus.
