Form of workWe seek an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) - Principal to join our team. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in enterprise-level production support, cloud migration experience, and advanced programming capabilities with Oracle SQL, Linux Bash, and Ansible. As an Oracle Database Administrator - Principal, you will be crucial in managing and maintaining our organization's databases for a large, complex legacy system, using your experience to help move to the cloud. You will be expected to work cohesively with a senior DBA team, providing input into the cloud migration, production support, and project team leadership. The goals for all production databases are optimal performance, security, and availability.
You will play an instrumental role in our mission to sustain a high level of quality in our current co-located data centers while also participating in our journey to a public cloud model. You will be responsible for both cloud-based and physical server-based Oracle databases, coordinating with other infrastructure teams and working with Application Engineers to assist in developing application solutions. You will use your advanced technology and engineering skills to meet the demands of rapidly evolving technologies to analyze and recommend appropriate database technologies to optimize database performance, ensure maximum availability, and maintain a high level of database security. You will be called on to contribute to continuous systemic performance tuning efforts that include server, database, and query tuning.
Finally, you must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication, including communicating complex technical information to stakeholders. You must be willing to participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation on a regularly scheduled cycle. You will be called on to be available on a 24X7 basis when needed to provide a tactical response for key customer events or production-impacting incidents.
Skill Set:
Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical equivalent work experience
- 10 + years experience in Oracle Database Administration
- 10 + years of progressively increasing responsibilities as an Oracle DBA
- Experience working in a public cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or Oracle)
- Last 4 years of experience must have been as a production Oracle DBA in an Enterprise environment using a current Oracle version.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical personnel.
- Must be comfortable working at the Unix command line level and VI
- Must be proficient at Unix shell scripting.
- Able to work flexible hours as required by business priorities.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Competent with Ansible.
- Experience with Oracle Data Guard.
- Experience supporting a web hosting environment.
- Production experience with systems-level database administration in a high transaction environment.
- Oracle Transparent Data Encryption (TDE)

The starting base pay is $87,700.00 to $114,200.00. Blackbaud may pay more or less based on employee qualifications, market value, Company finances, and other operational considerations.Benefits Include:
