OR-RN- Ambulatory-Outpatient Setting

FlexStaff is seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse to join our team on a permanent basis. As an integral part of our nursing department, you will provide exceptional patient care during the intra-operative phase, serving as the patient’s advocate in the operating room. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting surgeons and anesthesia providers, maintaining a sterile environment, and ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the surgical process.

Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current New York State licensure.
• Operating room experience a Must.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Word and patient database software.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain the operating room environment according to established procedures.
• Assist with patient positioning and preparation for surgery.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide support as required.
• Adhere to principles of aseptic technique to prevent infection.
• Monitor patient vital signs and response to anesthesia.
• Collaborate with other members of the peri-operative team to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families throughout the surgical process.
• Participate in quality management programs and continuous education initiatives.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures to maintain a secure environment for patients and staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the OR supervisor or administrator.
• Work collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical staff, physicians, patients, families, consultants, and vendors.
• Provide guidance and direction to ancillary personnel as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $105,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
