FlexStaff is seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse to join our team on a permanent basis. As an integral part of our nursing department, you will provide exceptional patient care during the intra-operative phase, serving as the patient’s advocate in the operating room. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting surgeons and anesthesia providers, maintaining a sterile environment, and ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the surgical process.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current New York State licensure.
- Operating room experience a Must.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Word and patient database software.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain the operating room environment according to established procedures.
- Assist with patient positioning and preparation for surgery.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide support as required.
- Adhere to principles of aseptic technique to prevent infection.
- Monitor patient vital signs and response to anesthesia.
- Collaborate with other members of the peri-operative team to ensure continuity of care.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families throughout the surgical process.
- Participate in quality management programs and continuous education initiatives.
- Adhere to safety policies and procedures to maintain a secure environment for patients and staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the OR supervisor or administrator.
- Work collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical staff, physicians, patients, families, consultants, and vendors.
- Provide guidance and direction to ancillary personnel as needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $105,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
