- Less than high school. Two years of housekeeping experience and complete an OR certification program within 9 months of employment.
- Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
- Performs terminal cleaning procedures of the OR rooms and prepares room for next case.
- Cleans and disinfects floors with required protocol.
- Moves equipment and furniture in OR rooms in accordance with cleaning procedures.
- Gathers and disposes of trash and waste materials.
- Participates in educational programs and inservice meetings. Obtains and maintains OR cleaning certification.
- Buffs, strips, waxes, polishes, and top scrubs floors.
- Performs regular housekeeping duties in non-patient OR areas.
