- Duties :
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and vision tests for patients
- Diagnose and treat various eye conditions and diseases
- Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other visual aids as needed
- Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgeries
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to manage patients' overall eye health
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in optometry and new treatment options
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
- Requirements :
- Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited optometry school
- Valid state license to practice optometry
- Strong knowledge of optical systems and equipment
- Proficient in medical coding and billing procedures
- Familiarity with aseptic technique and infection control protocols
- Excellent patient care skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient privacy laws
