Relocation bonus - Upto $8000
Pay -$150,000 - $175000
As an Optometrist, you will examine eyes of all patients, check for signs and symptoms for general health conditions, and educate and counsel patients visual hygiene. This position will work closely with the Site Operations Director and will report to the Chief Medical Officer.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Examines eyes of patient of all ages, using observation, instruments and pharmaceutical agents, to determine visual acuity and perception, focus and coordination and to diagnose diseases and signs of injury and/or abnormalities or vision defects.
Checks for signs and symptoms for general health conditions (e.g. diabetes); analyzes test results and develops a treatment plan.
Prescribes, supplies, fits and adjusts eyeglasses, contact lenses and other vision aids.
Educates and counsels patients on contact lens care, visual hygiene, vision related matters, lighting arrangements and safety factors.
Consults with and refers patients to a health care practitioner if additional medical treatment is determined necessary.
Removes foreign bodies from the eye.
Provides the highest patient care and services to the public.
Assures up-to-date technically, learning and applying new knowledge to your job.
Provides training to optometry staff.

Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Training
Graduation from an approved school of optometry
Residency program completed
Board certification
DEA certification
CPR certification
Indiana State Optometry License
Continuing medical education to maintain necessary licenses
Experience
At least 1-3 years of experience as an Optometrist (not required but highly preferred)
