Angel Eyes Vision is looking for motivated and friendly optometry assistants and technicians to join this mission. The technician is a crucial member of the team who helps guide patients through their office visits, preforms preliminary eye tests, and assists doctors in providing patient-focused health care.

Position Summary:

The optometry technician assists patients and doctors in the delivery of eye and medical care services. These duties include preparing patients for eye exams by obtaining medical histories, conducting preliminary tests, and preparing patient files for hand off to the doctor. In addition, the technician works to schedule, verify insurance information, and assist patients with contact lenses and other steps in the patient journey.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Obtains patients’ health and medical history; ensures necessary forms and records are complete and accurate and properly recorded in the electronic health records (EHR) system

· Performs preliminary patient tests, including the ability to explain test procedures and purposes

· Facilitates patient flow and time management, while providing the excellent customer service and standards of care

· Maintains positive appearance and sanitation of office and exam rooms, which includes general cleaning, proper cleaning of surfaces, and proper storage of equipment

· Engage with patients, coworkers, and other partners with friendly and professional demeanor

· Educate patients on contact lens insertion and removal, as well as advice on overall lens and eye care procedures

· Other office duties as assigned, including scheduling patient visits, verifying appointments and insurance coverage, cleaning and maintaining equipment, and maintaining and ordering supplies

· Organized and collected, even in the face of multiple interruptions

· Ability to engage with patients diplomatically, including strict confidentially of sensitive patient information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines

· Ability to engage in active office environment, including the ability to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time, as well as the ability to focus and function in office environment of medium noise levels

Education and Experience:

· High School Diploma or GED required; at least two to three years of experience in a medical office, particularly an optometry office, preferred

· Experience with insurance billing or Revolution EHR is a plus

· Basic writing and math aptitude
