```Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Optometric Assistant to join our team. As an Optometric Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting the optometrist in various administrative and clinical tasks.
Duties:
- Greet patients and assist with check-in process
- Perform preliminary tests and measurements, such as visual acuity, color vision, and depth perception
- Prepare patients for eye exams by explaining procedures and answering any questions
- Administer diagnostic tests, such as tonometry and visual field testing
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
- Handle patient inquiries, schedule appointments, and manage phone calls
- Assist with contact lens fittings, ordering, and instruction
- Educate patients on proper eyewear care and maintenance
- Process insurance claims and verify coverage
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations
Experience:
- Previous experience as an Optometric Assistant or in a similar role is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of optometry terminology, procedures, and equipment is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to provide exceptional patient care
- Proficiency in retail math for assisting patients with frame selection and pricing options
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for maintaining accurate records
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 36 per week
