Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused individual to join our team as an Optometric Assistant. As an Optometric Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing support to our optometrists and ensuring the smooth operation of our optometry practice. This is a paid position with opportunities for growth and development. Responsibilities: - Assist optometrists with patient care, including taking vital signs and documenting medical history - Perform preliminary vision tests, such as visual acuity and color vision tests - Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are clean and well-stocked with necessary supplies - Help patients select eyewear and provide assistance with frame fitting - Perform optical sales transactions using retail math skills - Handle administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments and maintaining patient records - Process insurance claims and perform medical billing duties - Maintain inventory of eyewear, contact lenses, and other optical products - Provide exceptional customer service to all patients, ensuring their needs are met Requirements: - Previous experience in an optical or healthcare setting is preferred - Knowledge of optometry procedures and terminology is a plus - Familiarity with medical billing systems, such as Epic, is advantageous - Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written - Ability to work well in a team and collaborate effectively with colleagues - Proficiency in using computer systems for data entry and record keeping - Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as needed Note: All positions at our company are paid, including internships.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 29 per week
