Family Eyecare Center is a growing, fast paced optometry practice in Danville, VA. We pride ourselves in providing quality eye care and personal attention to all of our patients. We are looking for an Optician to provide knowledge, and leadership to our optical team.

Job Summary

This position is accountable for:

· Assuring exceptional patient care while overseeing efficient patient flow

· Assist with inventory control and management

· Monitor Quality control of products and services.

As such, this person will be responsible for:

1. Communicate, implement, and ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures

2. Participate in weekly optical staff meetings and monitor sale goals per individual/ group

3. Generate a positive atmosphere by being a role model and encouraging teamwork

4. Learn our patient base and understand what type of eye wear each particular demographic purchase: assist with eye wear selection

5. Understand and file insurance claims for eye wear purchases

6. Analyze past sale history and make sure eye wear is at a similar level: analyze performance data and make recommendations to improve profitability

7. Own the relationships with the frame reps at various eye wear vendors: be aware of vendor policies on warranties, replacement parts, and exchanging frames

8. Make sure the practice is taking advantage of profitable promotions with our vendors and compare discounts

9. Know when products are being discontinued

Experience:

• A bachelor’s degree in management, business or related area or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
• A minimum of 3 Years work experience in an optical environment is required
• Must demonstrate an understanding of inventory management, sales and eyewear dispensing, and vendor relations.

Additional Preferred Requirements

· Knowledge of an office setting

· EHR/ Medical records processing

· Barcoding/Scanner Knowledge

· Usage of an Edger and manual lensometer

· Licensed Optician

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $18.00 per hour
