Founded over 80 years ago, the Wheaton Eye Clinic is a nationally recognized multi-subspecialty ophthalmology practice that spans the western suburbs of Chicago and is the largest independent ophthalmology clinic in the Midwest. Our offices are located in Wheaton, Naperville, Hinsdale, Saint Charles, Bartlett, and Plainfield and an ophthalmology-specific ambulatory surgery center at the main office in Wheaton. We currently have 34 ophthalmologists and 6 optometrists in every ophthalmic subspecialty are highly respected in the region and have superb relationships with referring colleagues and health systems. Patients travel to Wheaton Eye Clinic from throughout Northern Illinois, as well as from across the United States. Our referring physicians locally, across the United States, and from many international countries, send their patients to Wheaton Eye Clinic because of its unwavering reputation for exceptional patient care. We are seeking a Receptionist to add to our Optical staff in our Naperville location. The ideal candidate is energetic, enthusiastic, and knows how to provide outstanding customer service in a professional manner. The Optical Receptionist will provide both courteous and professional service by effectively communicating with patients and staff and will engage every customer that enters the department, answer all incoming calls and prioritize the customer’s visit or call. Additional duties include processing customer paperwork, taking payments, completing daily batching transactions, ensuring accuracy of all patient information, insurance billing, coding, payment transactions and claim submission.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Answer and direct all incoming calls for the Optical Department
• Cashier for Optical transactions
• Medicare billing and coding for electronic submission of optical claims
• Insurance billing and coding for glasses
• Receive optical product for the office and manage inventory accuracy
• Label product for retail presentation
• Demonstrate working knowledge of entire frame inventory
• Receive purchase orders, reconcile invoices to achieve accurate stock status
• Assist customers with frame styling, recommending fashionable options for prescription eyewear
• Design, organize and maintain retail eyewear displays

The hours are Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm, Wednesday from 8am-6pm.

Requirements:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • Microsoft Office experience
  • Attention to detail
  • Customer Service oriented
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Works well independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Receptionist experience at least one year
  • Medical Office or Retail Optical experience
  • Knowledge of Epic EMR (Preferred)
