The candidate will work closely with various cross-functional teams including analog, digital, optical and firmware engineers to architect the overall system.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Understanding digital signal processing and digital communications for optical interfaces
  • Modelling/simulation/analysis of systems including high speed analog components (ADC, DAC, drivers, TIA), opto-electronic components (optical modulators, optical mixers, photodiodes, lasers, optical mux/demux, optical amplifiers), fiber impairments (CD, PMD, non-linearities) and DSP algorithms (calibration of analog and optical nonidealities, equalizers, carrier frequency/phase recovery, timing recovery)
  • Analysis and modelling of systems to drive definition of standards in OIF/IEEE/ITU-T
  • Work with lab equipment (spectrum analyzers, scopes, VOA, lasers, ASE generators etc.)
  • Design experiments to collect/analyze data to enable definition of next generation DSP
  • Debug complex optical, analog and signal processing problems

Minimum Requirements:
  • Candidate MUST have a MS/PhD (preferred) degree in EE or related technical field(s)
  • 15 years of previous experience developing complex signal processing/digital communication chips

Preferred Requirements:
  • A strong signal processing/digital communications background with an ability to analyze complex system level problems is required.
  • Strong programming skills in Matlab/Python/C/C++, in a Unix type environment, with good problem solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with debugging complex analog issues to improve system performance is required.
  • Additional background in coherent optical systems, optical components and silicon photonic integration knowledge is highly desired.
  • Knowledge of digital design of DSP blocks will be a huge plus.

Expected Base Pay Range (USD)
170,100 - 251,750, $ per annum
The successful candidate's starting base pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location and market conditions. The expected base pay range for this role may be modified based on market conditions.
