OPS Phlebotomist
Job Description:Health Services:
Perform blood collection, ECGs, vital signs, and skin biopsy screens on participants per the research study protocol
Stock designated areas within the participant and laboratory areas
Set up, operate and calibrate laboratory equipment
Complete all documentation (source documents, laboratory records, and inventory) correctly and in a timely manner
Communicate research study inclusion/exclusion criteria (in regards to lab assessments) with senior research coordinators
Maintain organization of immediate working area and stockrooms
Assist with specimen transport for timely collection and processing
Data Collection and Reporting
Assisting with data collection and reporting while maintaining the highest standards of data integrity and compliance with study protocol.
Lab Safety and Adherence:
Read, comprehend, and implement lab requirements listed in protocols and lab manuals
Follow lab processes and procedures and take instruction/guidance from senior research team members
Provide a safe/comfortable environment for the study participant
Adhere to safety standards for the facility, participant rooms, and unit areas and research study protocols
Maintain participant rooms by cleaning and disinfecting according to industry codes/ standards
Collect and dispose of bio hazard lab waste
Other Duties
Participate in all required meetings and training sessions as necessary.
Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

$18.00 - $23.00 Hourly
Minimum Requirements:High school diploma plus two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification with a nationally recognized phlebotomy organization preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:EXPERIENCE
Working in healthcare or academic research environments
A customer-service orientation and/or experience working with older adults
Committed to participant protection and privacy
KNOWLEDGE
Familiar with regulations surrounding research participant recruitment, including human-subject protection, and health studies.
Knowledge of current medical terminology to perform and communicate laboratory tests.
Knowledge of laboratory equipment and understand information about instrumentation in laboratory field.
SKILLS
Familiar with Microsoft Office Word, Outlook, and data analysis software (Excel)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
ABILITIES
Ability to meet tight deadlines and flexibility as expectations and deadlines shift.
Experience drawing blood, performing vitals assessments, and ECGs.
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and communicate reasonable expectations regarding workflow, deadlines and deliverables.
Ability to plan, execute and complete work assignments independently, efficiently and accurately while working as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-profile, multidisciplinary work environment.
