Government Operations Consultant I OPS

This position will serve as the lead facilitator for a Youth Health Committee in Pinellas County. Assist a group of youth (high-school aged) in the development of a Youth Health Plan based on data gathered via surveys and research conducted.

 

Primary Job Tasks

Guide the selected youth in projects and/or studies to help improve the health of their peers in the identified areas outlined in their plan. Work alongside a pre-identified steering committee comprised of leadership and decision makers from partner organizations and local government to ensure needs are being met. Candidate must have ability to communicate clearly and effectively both in person and in written format. Previous experience with meeting facilitation and working with/engaging youth is preferred but not required.

Performs related work as required. Assists with other projects in the CHPM Division as appropriate.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Knowledge of basic principles of public health.
  • Skill in operation a personal computer utilizing word processing, data processing and graphic programs.
  • Understanding of MS Office Suite including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Publisher.
  • Ability to prioritize, plan, organize and coordinate assigned work.
  • Ability to deal with staff and public in a tactful and courteous manner.
  • Ability to answer a multi-line telephone system.
  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to prepare accurate reports and correspondence including performing basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated and self-directed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Effective communication skills both verbal and non-verbal.
  • Ability to type at least 50 WPM.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Time Management skills is a must.
  • Demonstrates excellent customer services skills.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work independently, work well with others and be a team player.
