We are searching for a Communications Specialist Customer Service Representative to join our team.

Summary of Responsibilities

• Operate a multi-line telephone system
• Place outbound calls for appointment scheduling
• Receive inbound calls and triage patient ocular complaints
• Document detailed information regarding patients symptoms and health history
• Communicate professionally and effectively with referring providers
• Check incoming voicemails and call the patient or referring office back in a timely manner
• Work within the communications in basket
• Register new patients
• Schedule appointments
• Fax office notes to outside offices
• Manage incoming electronic fax folder
• Rescheduling projects
• Scan records and referrals into patient’s chart
• Determine the nature of a call and transfer the caller to the most appropriate staff member if needed.
• Take detailed messages from patients regarding medical questions, medication refills and route to an ophthalmic technician
• All communications must be managed in a manner that protects the confidential nature of information in a medical practice environment.
• Perform other related duties as directed or as required.

Skills and Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Superb time management and detail
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Prior Call Center experience preferred
