Job Description
We are looking for a responsible, outgoing Ophthalmic/Optometric Technician to perform a variety of technician and assistant tasks in our office. Duties for this position include working up patients, providing support for our doctor and manager, helping patients with eyewear selections/repairs, and assisting in daily office activities. The ideal candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to organize their work using digital applications. Prior experience in this field is not a requirement. If you have a winning personality and a willingness to learn new skills, we will train you into a rock star.
Responsibilities
- Reviewing and preparing patient records
- Perform appropriate tests to prepare patients for the doctor
- Communicate effectively with other medical offices/providers
- Assist patients with eyewear selection
- Perform minor repairs/adjustments to eyewear
- Answer and direct phone calls
- Organize and schedule appointments
- Compose and distribute email, correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
- Order office supplies and research new deals and suppliers
- Verify insurance coverage for patients
- Greet and assist patients
- Provide patients with a WORLD CLASS experience
Qualifications:
- Experience as an Ophthalmic/Optometric Technician or Assistant (optional)
- Knowledge of the ophthalmic/optometric field and procedures (optional)
- Working knowledge of office equipment, like printers, scanners, and fax machines
- Proficiency in applications such as MS Office/Excel or Google equivalents
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
- Attention to detail and problem solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
- Ability to provide world class customer service
