Haik Humble Eye Center is looking for candidates who are ready to begin an exciting career in the medical field. The Ophthalmic Assistant will work under the clinical team using state of the art ocular equipment to conduct specialized testing on patients to determine visual acuity, visual defects, and ocular problems. Training will include various eye testing, intra-ocular pressure measurements, history and etiology, visual fields, corneal topography, eye scans, ultrasound, as well as ophthalmic terminology and charting. This job involves daily one on one patient care and contact, therefore we are looking for someone who possesses kindness and compassion for our wonderful patients.
Direct patient contact will require the candidate to be able to administer eye medications and diagnostic drops upon training. The position will also perform patient related clerical duties. No prior experience in the field is required as on the job training will be provided.
Candidates must have the ability to multi-task in a fast- paced environment within a very busy clinic. Candidates must demonstrate punctuality with a strong record of attendance. Must be able to work 30-40 hours per week.
- Able to work with elderly patients; Compassionate to patient’s needs and concerns
- Standing or walking for long periods of time
- Proficient in computer programs, such as Microsoft Office or a healthcare software system

- Flexible schedule, including working some weekends as needed
