JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Ophthalmic Assistant provides technical support and assistance to the Ophthalmic Physicians in order to facilitate the evaluation, treatment, and management of patients receiving specialized ophthalmic care.
This position has opportunity for advancement with additional certification and training. The Ophthalmic Assistants can assist with ophthalmic surgeries, and they have the opportunity to participate in the on-call program to aid the physicians with after-hours emergencies.
EDUCATION:
Associates degree or at least two years specialized training in relevant field. Successful completion of an accredited program for Ophthalmic Assistants or Technicians or equivalent plus minimum of six months satisfactory full time work under ophthalmologic supervision
EXPERIENCE:
Requires current experience in the last two years as an Ophthalmic Assistant or an equivalent combination of education and medical experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities may be acquired, will be considered.
