Position Description
This is an entry-level position with ARG Packaging Plant facility in which employees are responsible for tasks associated with packaging product at a designated station on a single automated filling line. Functions of this position include ensuring the line operates without interruption or error in accordance with required safety, quality, and standard operating guidelines. Additionally, individuals in this role verify containers, product and labeling processes are appropriate to the assigned production run and are required to ensure compliance with established guidelines.
Scope & Responsibilities
- Provide general labor to multiple positions and/or purposes as directed.
- Assists in the smooth operation of the packaging line and ensures uninterrupted flow of product.
- Primarily handles in-process or finished packaged products and transports to storage or loading areas.
- Safely operate Forklift to unload trucks and move packaging material to the production area.
- Assist in changing and/or adjusting packaging equipment on Filling Lines to fill different sized containers.
- Record and provide accurate production data to ensure proper accountability of filled product and packaging materials.
- Keep work areas clean and orderly, wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with all safety policies.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by Supervisor/Management.
Education & Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent with valid motor vehicle driver license.
- One to two years (1-2) general work experience preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer operations including Microsoft applications such as Access, Excel, Word & Outlook as well as other software.
- COVID-19 vaccine is required for any new hire to this position; candidates must provide proof of full vaccination (reasonable accommodations will be considered).

Willingness to demonstrate and the ability to be a servant-leader exercising initiative in performing duties of the job under limited supervision.
Follow the lockout/tagout regulations and open line/entry permit requirements – embrace and be accountable for a culture of safety.
Individuals in this role are required to continually “train-up” to next level of qualification in preparation for future vacancies.
Successful applicant for this job vacancy will be required to follow the line of progression to Operator II.
Must satisfactorily complete of all training programs necessary to perform assignments within two (2) years.
Physical & Cognitive Demands
Cognitive demands include the ability to perform repetitive tasks, meet deadlines, focus attention, work independently, make independent judgement, work with a team, communicate effectively, read, and comprehend, critical thinking/troubleshooting.
Physical demands require sight and depth perception, assembling parts, keyboarding, speaking, hearing, smelling sitting, walk/climb, stand/reach, listen, writing, driving, keyboarding, push/pull/lift/carry or otherwise transport 50 pounds.
Capable of climbing, working from elevated locations, using hand, power or air tools and perform work in both indoor/outdoor environments.
Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, moderate to loud noise levels and extreme weather conditions (heat/cold).
Must be able to wear Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) and use all types of respiratory equipment including self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).
May be required to work overtime, holidays, weekends scheduled time off &/or shift work as required to support plant operations.
