Position Title: Panning Operator
Reports To: Department Lead
Overview
This role operates a panning line and oversees the packaging of confectionary products.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead by example.
- Maintain a clean and safe production floor area.
- Continually improve safety record by addressing unsafe conditions. Check equipment to ensure that it meets health and safety regulations, perform equipment operator care in redzone.
- Inspect products for quality as per product specifications.
- Check scales to ensure correct weights.
- Ensure the ingredient ratios are followed when making products.
- Perform required metal detector checks and report any known issues.
- Perform proper allergen and product washes.
- Perform regular quality checks to ensure product meets specifications, responsible for the completion of all required quality paperwork and turning into QA.
- Prepare supplies, products, and set up appropriate equipment.
- Regularly perform weight checks on products.
- Maintain appropriate inventory counts of products.
- Correctly record lot numbers, date codes and other product information.
- Perform RedZone Huddles as specified by management.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisors and/or management including cross training in different areas.
Knowledge/Skill/Abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively across all functions within the plant and the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with individuals at all levels.
- Ability to work overtime as needed and as required.
- Ability to maintain acceptable standards of conduct.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 20 – 30 pounds frequently.
- Standing for long periods of time.
- Repetitive motion and fast paced movement.
- Continual use of hands to handle, control or feel objects.
