Position Overview:
We are seeking an Operations Technician with a knack for leadership to steer our Grizzly Wood production efforts. This position requires hands-on engagement with our mobile plastic processing system and is pivotal to the smooth operation and maintenance of our equipment. The ideal candidate will have an innate understanding of machinery, is adaptable to challenging environments, and possesses a strong desire to promote sustainable practices.
Key Responsibilities:
System Operation: Oversee and operate the mobile plastic processing system efficiently, ensuring the consistent quality of Grizzly Wood.
Maintenance: Regularly inspect, troubleshoot, and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on all equipment.
Leadership: Train, supervise, and mentor a team to ensure best practices in production and safety.
Deployment: Travel to and operate in coastal Alaska communities during summer months, ensuring production targets are met.
Safety and Compliance: Ensure all operations are conducted in accordance with safety regulations and company standards.
Documentation: Maintain accurate operational logs, inventory records, and production reports.
Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact during deployments, liaising with community representatives and clients.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with machinery, preferably in plastic processing or related industries.
Mechanical Aptitude: Strong understanding of machinery components and mechanics to facilitate effective troubleshooting and maintenance.
Leadership Abilities: Demonstrated capability to lead a team, including training and supervisory skills.
Adaptability: Comfortable working in varied environments, including remote locations and changing climates.
Safety Conscious: Prior experience with safety protocols and a keen eye for identifying potential hazards.
Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions quickly.
Travel Ready: Willingness to travel and operate in coastal Alaska during the summer months.
Education & Experience:
A degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field is an advantage but not mandatory.
Previous experience in plastic processing, recycling, lumber production, or related operations.
Prior experience in a leadership role or supervisory capacity.
