Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate Packaging Machine
- Has the ability to operate machines within the packaging department. This may include operating equipment, troubleshooting, and performing minor maintenance repairs. This may require operating powered industrial trucks
- Ready labels for the production run
- Set up and operate ink jet printer as required
- Maintain accurate production records that could be written and/or computer based
- Operate bulk scale, including taring pallets, while running totes
- Perform cleaning and sanitation tasks as required to maintain plant equipment
- Perform scale checks as required for accuracy
- Maintain a high level of safety and quality awareness and a high degree of urgency
- Assist in other production areas as required
- Maintain work areas in a neat and orderly fashion
- Perform duties of other packaging technicians as needed
- Minimize water usage and the generation of wastewater within the scope of the position
- Follow all DFA GMP's and works in a manner consistent with all corporate and regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements
- Must adhere to all safety policies and procedures
- Assist in training of new personnel

Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required
- One year of experience within a production area of the plant or equivalent is required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to use simple writing, adding, subtracting and multiplication
- Ability to carry out instructions
- Mechanical aptitude or previous machine experience
- Must be able to read, write and speak English
