Operations Team Leader

Ops Team Leaders will share multiple rotating shifts to cover 7-day operations in our Grain Processing Plant in Laurel, DE. This position will be responsible for the entire operations of the plant. Some of the operations are 24/7 therefore, while on duty, candidates must be available throughout the day. The schedule is a 12-hour shift on a 3 ON DUTY 2 OFF DUTY 2 ON DUTY basis. This is a Supervisory position that entails hands-on involvement if operators call out or grain transfers fall behind schedule.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education/Experience: High school diploma with 4+ years of relevant experience, agricultural or manufacturing preferred.

Equipment: Must be proficient operating a forklift, skid steer, and lifts. Includes passing a forklift operation and safety course (provided). Must be able to operate a man lift in tight conditions. Able and willing to use hand tools (shovels, brooms) to maintain high sanitation levels. Able and willing to wear PPE (bump cap, safety shoes, safety glasses) during shift. Able and willing to use basic hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, etc).
Computer Skills: Working knowledge of Word & Excel. Working knowledge of personal computers, copiers, scanners, multi-line phones & other office equipment.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to work in a high paced environment; lift 55lb; climb stairs and ladders; work on feet without sitting for a full two hours.

Other Essential Job Functions: Inspect equipment, machinery, and processes to troubleshoot and correct equipment and production issues. Includes frequent movement throughout facility, positioning oneself in manners to move under, around, and through tight places, reaching, ascending/descending stairs/ladders, moving up to 55 pounds both vertically and from pace to place, working in extremes of temperature, both hot and cold, and entering confined spaces.

RESPONSIBILITES

· Safety, Quality, GMPs

o Lead by example always work with a Safety-First mentality.

o Ensure all tools, ladders, and equipment are in safe operating condition.

o Ensure all LOTO, Confined Space, and Safe operating procedures are developed and being followed.

o Complete/review all quality monitoring procedures to ensure quality product.

o Ensure all product flushes are documented and completed according to SOPs.

o Accountable for compliance to and quality execution of Master Sanitation plan and closing any gaps in the plan.

o Ensure all operators and tools and equipment are in compliance with GMPs.

· Operations

o Mange all aspect of production for scheduled shift:

§ Candidates will load and unload vessels with grain.

§ Operate and monitor conveyors, bucket elevators to move grain through different vessels and silos.

§ Able to operate diverse equipment used in cleaning such as water hose, power washer, brushes, squeegees.

§ Being familiar with regular farming equipment like tractor and forklift is a plus.

§ Able to perform minor repairs like equipment lubrication, tightening bolts, screw and unscrew nozzle tips, change filters.

§ Ensure appropriate staffing across departments

§ Ensure receiving and bulk shipments are executed to plan

§ Ensure all MH operations, QA checks, and Sanitation is executed to plan

§ Ensure Roasting production, QA checks, and Sanitation is executed to plan

§ Ensure Packaging schedule, all changeovers, transfers, QA checks, and sanitation is executed to plan

§ Ensure all warehouse operations, sanitation, and documentation is being executed to plan

§ Execute and reconcile inventories for shift

§ Coordinate emergency maintenance to ensure quality and on time production

· Communicate to the Operations Manager any issue or potential issue identified while performing the above duties (i.e. quality, vendors, timing, product damage, safety concerns, etc.)

o Participate in employee review, and performance management, and interviewing.

· Other duties as assigned
