Operations Support Specialist

$20.00-$23.00/hr
Direct Hire
Monday-Thursday 7am-4pm & Friday 8am-2pm.
Job Function:
The Operations Support Specialist will assist with managing inventory, assisting procurement, and shipping/receiving along with additional administrative support. Reports to Operations Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Receiving
- Ensure all incoming shipments are received, labeled and placed in appropriate area/job cart, inventory or supply room.
- Verification of items being received: Correct part numbers, quantity and visual quality inspection
- Resolve issues with incoming shipments with suppliers
- Maintain receiving forms, records, and logs
- Pick up shipments from local suppliers, as required
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, workstation, and shipping supply area neat and orderly; comply with procedures, rules and regulations.
- Shipping
- Ensure that all product is packaged properly and secured before it leaves for delivery
- Create bill of ladings, assemble shipping documentation, and contact carrier as needed
- Maintain shipping forms, records, and logs
- Inventory Management
- Maintain inventory of shipping materials, building supplies and Non-BOM items used in manufacturing build
- Maintain and organize excessive inventory
- Pull inventory for projects as directed
- Conduct periodically inventory counts
- Procurement Assistance
- Process supplier purchase order confirmations
- Supplier follow up to ensure material readiness and on-time deliveries
- Data entry as required
- Administrative Support
- Assist with implementing new processes and systems to create efficiencies
- Other administrative duties as required
Required Skills:
- Proficient computer skills, ERP Systems, Excel, Microsoft-Word
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and with a team
Required Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 3+ years experience in a similar role
- A valid license, a clean driving record
- Proficient computer skills required, ERP Systems, Excel, Microsoft-Word
- Work experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
- Previous shipping and receiving experience preferred
- Previous experience with UPS, FedEx preferred
- International shipping experience preferred
Physical Demand & Work Environment:
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds
- Must be able to sit / stand as necessary in the work area
- Office workspace approximately 70%, with 30% warehouse interaction to deliver items to job shelf/location
