The Operations Support Assistant fulfills multiple assignments within the Readiness Division to keep the organization operating with the necessary equipment and supplies. The position's main responsibilities will include stocking, tracking, issuing, and maintaining equipment, assisting in building and vehicle maintenance, preparing standby events, and contributing to the organization's success.
- Annual pay range - $50,000 - $75,000 (consideration given to external experience, education, and qualifications when determining starting rate)

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS FOR POSITION
Education/Experience:
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
Preferred:
- An associate or bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in EMS, public health, or a closely related field.
- Minimal EMT-Basic certification or prior experience in prehospital medicine. Prior experience working with medical equipment may substitute experience in prehospital medicine.
Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- A valid, unrestricted Colorado driver’s license, with proof of safe driving record.
- Active, unsanctioned State of Colorado EMS credentials for those candidates who possess them
Knowledge:
Principles and techniques of training and performance evaluation and adult learning. Pre-hospital emergency medical practices, TVEMS policies, procedures, and equipment. General knowledge of vehicles, basic maintenance and principles of inventory tracking.
Skills:
Communicates clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing; supervising, training, and evaluating subordinates. Operation of all company vehicles and equipment; delegating responsibility and achieving results through subordinates; maintaining order in an environment of changing priorities. Skill in process development and review.
Abilities:
Must be able to work well with people and display empathy appropriately, to actively listen and respond appropriately. Must possess the ability to function successfully alone or in a team environment, to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing, and to set up and maintain records and files as required for effective position and operational functions. Physical Requirements:
Be able to perform such full range of body movement as bending, stooping, crawling, kneeling, walking, lifting, climbing, and carrying. Must be physically capable of carrying heavy medical and rescue equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Stock and maintain inventory levels of TVEMS equipment and supplies.
- Assists in building and managing processes for Operations Support
- Assist in monitoring stock levels and supply chain for any deficiencies.
- Keeps stock and supply rooms organized, clean and orderly.
- Participates in minor repair and maintenance of equipment up to their training and skill level.
- Prepares equipment for deployment.
- Maintains timely, complete, and accurate records and other required documentation.
- Prepares uniforms and equipment for new employees.
- Assist fleet management in the movement and maintenance of vehicles.
- Prepare equipment and vehicles for public events.
- Assist in the maintenance of TVEMS buildings and property.
- Participate in the placement and tracking of AED’s and other equipment related to the HEARTSafe Community project.
- Evaluates physical plant, equipment and vehicles and perform minor maintenance and repairs.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Material and Equipment Involved:
Various emergency medical, and rescue equipment and vehicles. Working knowledge of computers and associated software. Working knowledge of general repair and maintenance tools.
Hazardous Exposure Category:
Category II.
LIFTING REQUIREMENTS
Very Heavy Work
Exerting more than 150 pounds of force occasionally and/or 80 pounds of force frequently and/or more than 35 pounds of force constantly to move equipment and patients. Physical demand requirements exceed those for heavy work.
