Operations Research Analyst

MidwayUSA is a privately held eCommerce company in the Outdoor industry based in Columbia, MO. We are looking for a talentedOperations Research Analyst excited to work with a team to assess management and operational problems using engineering and scientific methods like mathematical modeling, statistics, and algorithms to help with decision-making in complex problems, to improve or optimize the performance of the organization. An Operation Research Analyst will also be responsible for conducting thorough research and analysis of potential strategic initiatives.
In This Role, You Will

• Conduct high-level data analysis to identify and understand problems through forecasting, gap analysis, quantitative reporting, research, and statistical analysis
• Produce ad hoc reporting by writing SQL queries and using Microsoft Power BI or Excel to present findings.
• Conduct research using analytical approaches and applying techniques to solve difficult problems and improve performance through increased efficiency and/or effectiveness.
• Conduct analysis to identify areas to improve productivity and efficiency and lead improvement initiatives to achieve productivity and efficiency goals
• Perform cost estimates, NPV calculations, and other research and analysis on process or system improvement projects and proposed Company Action Plans to determine value and feasibility

The Ideal Candidate Has:

• A Bachelors' degree in Statistics, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Management, Business, or related analytical, scientific, or technical discipline is required.
• A minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience
• Ability to conduct statistical analysis
• Ability to generate SQL queries and/or SQL reporting services (for database mining)
• Ability to develop, coordinate, direct and manage projects
• Ability to write and orally communicate with a broad audience, including the Senior leadership team
• An interest in the shooting, hunting, fishing or outdoors industry
