The Role…

You will oversee an operations-focused PMO that coordinates, drives and tracks impact from major projects driving increased operational efficiency and effectiveness – with a particular focus on back-office operations, supply, production, distribution, and field operations.

What You’ll Do…

  • With the guidance of VP Operational Excellence and teaming with NCS functional leaders – facilitate identification, evaluation/sizing, scoping, and resourcing, execution tracking and risk mitigation for cross-functional operations improvement projects
  • Guide development of project management tools such as charters, risk management tools, and burn-down charts
  • Engage FP&A resources and project owners to develop meaningful impact metrics and measures to demonstrate financial impact of delivered projects, and their sustainment
  • Facilitate and support project prioritization processes across the organization
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on best practices for developing project plans, encouraging progress towards lean and agile methods
  • Directly lead and manage larger, cross-facility and/or cross-functional initiatives (e.g. production site relocations, operations-focused IT or OT rollouts, operations workstreams within acquisition integrations)
  • Support VP/SVP level resources in evaluating project plans, resourcing, risks, and benefits for operations programs
  • Manage and drive alignment around best practice use of our enterprise wide project management software platform (ClickUp)
  • Develop reporting to automate as much of our routine status reporting, project impact evaluation, and project risk assessment as possible via industry standard, cloud-based tools
  • Facilitate regular program updates with project leads to review project adjustments, risks, realized project impact, and lessons learned in a cross-functional format
  • Develop executive level updates on program progress for internal Execs C-suite
  • Engage and partner with an established ERP implementation team as needed
  • Mentor, coach and influence employees, supervisors, managers and directors in project leadership best practices to drive behavior and cultural change and ensure attainment and sustainability of project outcomes

What you’ll need…

  • Undergraduate/Graduate degree, Business or Science / Technology / Engineering / Math preferred
  • 7+ years experience managing and leading large scale projects > over multiple sites
  • 3+ years experience in Program Management Office or Integration Management Office role (or equivalent)
  • Experience maintaining & improving upon “Playbooks” or best practice standards to be used by multiple project leaders at various sites
  • Experience coordinating and leading team members across multiple functional specialties (Supply Chain, Finance, Product Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, IT, Safety, HR, Learning & Development)
  • Extensive experience configuring, utilizing, and coaching others in use of modern, cloud-based project management tools (Asana, Monday, Trello, ClickUp, etc.)
  • Strong Microsoft office capabilities (especially PowerPoint, Excel)
  • 25-50% travel required – depending on nature of workload and geographic location
  • Would be an asset to have:
    • MBA or other related Masters degree
    • Experience in industrial, discrete product manufacturing environments
    • Prior consulting experience at a Big 4 or Global Tech Consulting/SI firm
    • Experience with data analysis/visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI)
    • Formal Agile and/or lean manufacturing training
