Summary of Position

The Terminal Security Solutions Operations Manager is responsible for managing all contracts and personnel assigned to his/her region/location. The Operations Manager ensures the company is in compliance with and executes all facility security plans and other related federal and state regulations.

Qualifications & Skills Required

  • Plans, manages, or coordinates the operations of all assigned Facilities in assigned contract(s) and/or region.
  • Where/When applicable, schedules crew member Safeguard duties/jobs to safeguard officers.
  • Ensures full compliance and proper execution of approved/applicable Facility Security Plans (FSP), MTSA, and all applicable federal and state regulations.
  • Plans, organizes and oversees the work of subordinate staff including but not limited to Office Manager and Terminal Security Officers to ensure that the customer and third party directives are accomplished and adheres to company policies.
  • Communicates with clients to ensure Operational integrity and standards are being met, reports service level shortfalls and other incidents to TSS senior management and implements appropriate corrective actions.
  • Responsible for overseeing staff training and development to meet client and internal needs.
  • Responsible for managing conduct of staff and taking applicable counseling or disciplinary actions in conjunction with HR.
  • Oversees and retains responsibility of the duties of the Office Manager including ensuring payroll reports and fiscal responsibilities are processed timely and accurately, overseeing recruitment and hiring efforts and ensuring staff schedules are accurate, balanced and fair.
  • Thoroughly examines and approves invoices for accuracy to include ensuring man hours by position and bill rates match up with timesheets and contracted rates.
  • Schedules and instructs technical training classes as necessary, to meet operational needs and staffing numbers, including: MTSA & Orientation, Safeguarding, and Screening
  • · Conducts investigations to verify and resolve customer, federal authorities and employee complaints and breaches of security, etc.
  • Properly safe-keeps all associated Sensitive Security Information (SSI) materials.
  • Manages in line with established organizational requirements.
  • Handles arbitration of employee disputes and resolution of complaints.
  • Monitors supervisory functions by conducting continual on-the-job training.
  • Manages all required maintenance for TSS equipment, to include but not limited to (where applicable): X-ray units and magnetometers, company vehicles, all issued company property and technology, and VHF two-way radios and bank chargers
  • Writes and maintains reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
  • Inspects work areas to ensure compliance of established regulations in regard to safety and maintenance.
  • Observes and evaluates worker’s performance to ensure upward mobility and proper utilization of employee skills.
  • Manages and develops all terminal and safeguard documentation as required by the company, customers and regulatory authorities.
  • Ensures all required reports are executed as necessary.
  • Maintains staff levels in accordance with client needs. Monitor turn-over and hire as necessary to maintain staffing levels.
  • Utilize and maintain proficiency in NovaTime and Paylocity.
  • When necessary, conducts interviews of potential supervisors and attract qualified candidates as necessary via community outreach methodology.
  • Monitors and report suspicious activities to local authorities.
  • Monitors and address subordinates in violation of policies and procedures.
  • Assists with acquisition and attraction of new clients and prospect contracts.
  • Ability to budget and follow strict guidelines for Operational needs.
  • In coordination with the Office Manager, order supplies as needed
  • Acts as Liaison between LE, CBP, USCG, and associated entities listed formerly.
  • Ability to listen and communicate effectively.
Requirements:

Education and/or Work Experience:

  • Equivalent of an Associate’s Degree in a related field of study and 5-8+ years progressively responsible, related experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • State Security Officer License required.
  • Law Enforcement or Military experience preferred.
  • Customer Service experience preferred.
  • Screener certification (provided by company).
  • State Security Manager License preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Must be able to stand a minimum of 8 hours at a time.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on a telephone/VHF two-way radio
