Overview:

As the Operations and Housekeeping Manager Director based in Traverse City, MI, for Elevated Homes & Hospitality, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the operational aspects of our vacation rental services. Your primary responsibilities will include coordinating and inspecting the work of our cleaning teams to ensure they consistently meet and exceed our Elevated standards.

Situated in the charming city of Traverse City, you'll be the local point of contact, utilizing your leadership skills to motivate and guide our team. Your daily tasks will involve visiting vacation rental properties under our care, serving as our on-the-ground representative. Thorough property inspections will be part of your routine to guarantee that each location is in impeccable condition, well-stocked, and prepared to welcome our next guests.

Should any scheduling issues arise, your proactive and hands-on approach will come into play as you address challenges with a can-do attitude. You won't hesitate to roll up your sleeves and contribute where needed to ensure smooth operations.

Responsibilities:

  • 1. Supervise and manage the housekeeping team, overseeing hiring and training processes.
  • 2. Coordinate tasks for frontline housekeepers, acting as a liaison between Guest Experience and Operations departments to ensure the highest level of service.
  • 3. Conduct thorough inspections of properties, common areas, and exteriors to maintain Elevated brand standards for cleanliness.
  • 4. Assist in scheduling shifts, arranging replacements for absences, and monitoring cleaning product stock during property inspections.
  • 5. Communicate with the Operations Director to address any issues or concerns that may arise.
  • 6. Motivate team members, resolve job-related issues, and foster a positive work environment.
  • 7. Maintain a monthly inventory of all unit linens and consumables.
  • 8. Participate in property cleans as required and handle lost and found items.
  • 9. Perform detailed deep cleans as necessary.
  • 10. Conduct weekly and monthly reporting of goals, reviews, accomplishments, and future plans with the team.
  • 11. Establish and review standards and work procedures with all staff on a regular basis.
  • 12. Manage the housekeeping department's budget, ensuring adherence to labor and COGS goals.
  • 13. Handle other assigned responsibilities, embracing flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
  • 14. Perform basic in-field maintenance such as changing batteries, light bulbs, etc., and inform property management of any maintenance concerns.
  • 15. Undertake routine maintenance tasks, including changing air filters/cleaning, checking windows and seals, and other assigned duties.
  • 16. Understand and actively participate in in-field operations at least two days a week.

Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with cleaning and inspecting properties, or other similar work experience
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Google Sheets and Breezeway
  • Must use Slack as main form of internal communication
