Job Summary/Basic FunctionOversee operational functions of the Jones College of Business under the supervision of the Dean:
- Manage faculty and staff database, records, and email distribution lists. Advise Dean of recruiting needs due to resignations, retirements, sick leave, and non-renewals. Prepare position advertisements and hiring proposals as necessary. Review position advertisements and hiring proposals submitted by other College units.
- Oversee tenure and promotion processes within the College to ensure timely progress and appropriate documentation according to College and University policy.
- Manage Faculty Success faculty credentialing and management database. Assign faculty qualification status according to standards published by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and the College's Faculty Qualification policy with assistance from the Associate Dean as necessary.
- Complete the annual Salary Survey in AACSB's DataDirect website for review by the Dean. Complete the annual Business School Questionnaire in AACSB's DataDirect website for review by the Dean. Assist the Dean as necessary with information gathering and preparation of other reports required by AACSB to maintain academic accreditation.
- Oversee building conditions, submit facilities work orders, and recommend renovations to the Dean. Provide input to the Dean on decisions involving space layout, colors, finishes, fabrics, furniture relative to building renovations. Monitor the progress of renovations and advise the Dean of adjustments to renovation timelines.
- Manage faculty office space assignments for new faculty or when relocations are required to accomplish renovations or for other reasons such as academic program restructuring.
- Oversee scheduling of fall, spring, and summer BUS 3000 courses. Assign instructors to BUS 3000 course sections for review by the Dean, prepare BUS 3000 supplies, and complete adjunct hiring.
- Oversee tutoring efforts for the College in conjunction with academic department chairs. Advise the Associate Dean of changes in tutoring budget requirements and tutoring process adjustments such as tutoring time changes or location changes.
- Oversee faculty workloads by reviewing workload forms and advise the Dean of problems and/or recommended adjustments prior to approval of workload forms.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Bachelor's degree.
Required Related ExperienceThree years work experience in a university environment in a direct report role to an administrator at the level of Director or above.
