Mineral Park is an open pit copper / moly mine located in Kingman, Arizona, a Tier-1 mining jurisdiction. The mine uses conventional open – pit mining methods and processes ore by heap leach followed by SX/EW. Mineral Park is currently in a project phase to restart milling and concentrating operations. The project includes upgraded crushing and grinding circuits with copper and molybdenum flotation.
We are seeking a dynamic Operational Readiness Specialistto join our team. This individual will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless integration of upgraded crushing and grinding circuits, facilitating the transition towards enhanced copper and molybdenum flotation processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and Implement the Operational Readiness Plan (ORP):
- Spearhead the creation of a detailed, comprehensive, and feasible ORP within specified timelines.
- Construct the Operations Breakdown Structure, delineating necessary business processes, skill requirements, and technological support to ensure timely completion of Operational Readiness activities.
- Provide a detailed schedule and estimate for the ORP, emphasizing lead times and resource availability to meet operational requirements.
Continuous Improvement and Benchmarking:
- Capture and disseminate best operational practices through internal and external benchmarking initiatives, enhancing business optimization processes.
- Review ongoing projects aligned with process improvement frameworks, ensuring adherence to standard methodologies.
Stakeholder Alignment and Performance Monitoring:
- Facilitate alignment of roles and responsibilities within the Operational Readiness team and other stakeholders to facilitate effective operational ramp-up.
- Define and agree upon Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), ensuring alignment with production goals.
Gap Analysis and Corrective Action:
- Conduct comprehensive gap analyses utilizing appropriate benchmarks to generate an Operational Readiness roadmap.
- Analyze root causes of variances and distribute consolidated reports to key stakeholders to facilitate corrective actions.
Communication and Change Management:
- Establish and execute an effective communication plan among key stakeholders to facilitate efficient change management as necessary.
- Ensure clear communication and consensus on the Operational Breakdown Structure prior to the commencement of production.
Safety, Health, and Environmental Compliance:
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and minimizing environmental impact.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficiency in Business Process Mapping Systems and Operations Management Systems.
- Strong Project Management skills and familiarity with Project Management methodologies.
- Technical expertise in Mining, Metallurgy, or related fields.
- Excellent interpersonal, statistical analysis, and Theory of Constraints (TOC) skills.
- Effective leadership, communication, organizational, and report writing skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and MS Projects.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Mining, Metallurgy, or Chemical Engineering.
- Postgraduate qualification in Business Management (preferred).
- Prior experience as an Operational Readiness Manager in the Mining and Processing environment.
- Valid Driver’s License.

- Able to operate a telephone and mine phone/radio with sufficient voice and hearing to carry on a conversation for the purpose of communicating information, to management.
- Able to lift up to 25 pounds periodically.
- Must possess a valid Driver’s license and be able to operate a light vehicle.
