Seeking energetic full-time, part-time and per diem OR RN’s for a fast-paced Ophthalmic Ambulatory Surgery Center in Itasca, IL.

Job Qualifications:
- Highly motivated and ability to multi-task efficiently under demanding situations.
- ACLS/PALS/BLS on Hire or within 90 days of hire.
- Minimum of 1 year experience required.

Responsibilities
- Assesses patient and family needs in order to provide quality care to assigned patients.
- Identified the patient and correct surgical intervention according to policy/procedure and communicates such information to all members of the surgical team.
- Prepares the Operating Room according to requirements of patient/procedure to be performed.
- Maintains patient confidentiality.
- Ensures proper operation of equipment prior to start of surgical case and reports any malfunctions to Administrator.
- Maintains up‑to‑date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to ensure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team, in order to ensure quality care.
- Is responsible for making sure all pre-surgical testing has been done and on chart prior to procedure.
- Is responsible for making sure all consents have been signed by patient, surgeon and anesthesia as per policy.
- Will be available to the physician for assistance with site verification or other as needed.
- Maintains current knowledge, certification, and licensure. Pursues professional growth and development.
- Directs non-licensed personnel in the provision of care to patients as assigned.
- Is able to identify potential problems quickly and responds according to the patient’s needs.
- Works closely with the anesthesiologist and physician during the intra-operative phase of the patient.
- Reviews OR schedule daily, as well as collaborating with Administrator, anesthesia and surgical staff.
- Delegates tasks to ensure that patient care is provided and the needs of the center as a whole are met.
- Reviews all patient care documentation relevant to the services and assess compliance and completeness.
- Assists the Administrator to monitor/maintain center compliance with regulatory, accrediting and Center policy for patient services, and environmental and personnel safety.
