Job Title: Operating Room Attendant

Location: Stanford, California

Duration: 3 month Contract

Shift Time: Starts 10:30pm (8 hour shift)

Hourly Range: $25/hr to $28/hr

Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Operating Room Attendant to join our team. As an essential member of the Operating Room staff, you will play a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and organization within the Operating Room environment, ensuring optimal conditions for patient care and surgical procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Dispose of biomedical waste and other refuse in accordance with hospital policies and regulations.
• Change linens and ensure that Operating Room beds and surfaces are clean and sanitized between procedures.
• Assist with setting up and cleaning Operating Room equipment and instruments.
• Transport patients to and from the Operating Room as needed, ensuring their comfort and safety.
• Stock and replenish supplies, including surgical instruments, gowns, gloves, and sterile drapes.
• Assist surgical team members with positioning patients and preparing them for surgery.
• Maintain inventory of Operating Room supplies and equipment, notifying appropriate personnel when items need to be restocked or replaced.
• Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a sterile environment within the Operating Room.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the Operating Room and the overall success of surgical procedures.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Previous experience in a healthcare or surgical setting is preferred but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
• Flexibility to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays if required.

Requirements:

• Demonstrated ability to handle biomedical waste disposal and maintain cleanliness in a healthcare environment.
• Knowledge of infection control practices and procedures.
• Physical ability to lift and move equipment and supplies as needed.
• Willingness to undergo any necessary training or certification required for the position.
