Open Rank Special Education Faculty

Mount Marty University is pleased to advertise for an Open RankSpecial Education position. We encourage applications from those new to academia as well as those who are seasoned academics looking for a change. This person will be responsible for offering, overseeing, and developing our major and minor in Special Education. Course load for this position would incorporate those courses required to prepare students to teach in a K-12 setting.

The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Special Education or a related field at the time of appointment. The ideal candidate will also have teaching experience at the K12 and post-secondary levels. A commitment to undergraduate teaching and a willingness to support the mission of Mount Marty University and a zeal for working within a mission driven environment is required. We strongly encourage those candidates to apply who have an understanding of the dynamism required to thrive as a professor in a private, religiously affiliated institution in our current era, as well as an understanding of the dynamism required to help such an institution thrive. We are looking for bold, passionate, and collegial applicants who have a zeal to help develop outstanding graduates for our K12 schools.

Mount Marty will also consider applications from those who are master’s prepared in Special Education or a related field, and who express a willingness to earn a doctorate by the time of tenure and promotion. Should you be master’s prepared, but not interested in a doctoral degree, MMU would be willing to talk with you about options and rank.
